Hand Shake

The ritual where two people grasp each others right hand and give a few firm shakes, has been passed down from generation to generation. While the exact origins are somewhat of a mystery most believe that it started around two hundred years before the birth of Christ in Rome. Some have speculated that the hand shake begun as a sign of peace to show the other person that a weapon didn’t occupy the right hand. The right hand being the more dominate hand even in ancient times. "A gentleman on the street never shakes hands with a lady without first removing his right glove. But at the opera, or at a ball, or if he is usher at a wedding, he keeps his glove on." Never shake hands too firmly, because in most cultures it’s considered rude and an insult, at the same time, shake too feebly and you may be considered a pushover or a wimp. Also keep in mind leaving someone hanging is also considered an insult..... though really fun to do to dweebs.

The “Soul Brother Shake” is a shake that usually involves gripping of the thumb and performing a verity of different moves. Such a hand shake is usually performed among friends in a less formal situation. A secret hand shake is usually performed in private as a form of proof of affilation.
